The Metroplex Mighty Mustangs competitive cheer team is a recreational squad that competes at area cheerleading competitions. The team is made up of LISD girls ranging from 7th to 10th grade. The Mustangs first year of competing has been tremendous having already won many awards at competitions here in the metroplex. The Mustangs took home 1st place from Spirit Celebration Cheer Competition in Denton in December along with winning Grand Champions for the Recreational Division. They recently competed at the 2008 TAAF Winter Texas Games and won 1st place, Best Choreography and Grand Champions (picture provided by www.Cheerdad.Smugmug.com). The Mustangs will be attending their first National Cheer Competition in Garland, Texas on March 2nd.
