McKinney YMCA will offer Taekwondo classes
Starting June 10, 2013, the McKinney YMCA will start offering Taekwondo classes. Classes will introduce students to basic martial arts skills while emphasizing discipline and self-control. Students ages 5 and up are welcome to attend classes.

29th Annual Pecan Grove Cemetery Memorial Day Tribute
Perhaps there is no more sacred place on earth than the gravesite of a fallen soldier, having offered his or her life so we may live in liberty and the peace of our home. Seven hundred seventy-six American veteran heroes now rest in the historic Pecan Grove Cemetery, from the Mexican War to the Persian Gulf wars. The history of McKinney, Collin County and Texas is woven among the historical figures also buried there. However, it is the “other” story, the story of courage and sacrifice, given with pride to our nation, that we honor each May.

Interurban Railway Museum to feature 'Rural Texas Women at Work' exhibit
Beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2013, The Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation Inc. will present “Rural Texas Women at Work, 1930–1960,” an exhibition sponsored by Texas A&M University, Texas Agricultural Extension Service, Arts Council of Brazos Valley and produced by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The exhibit will be on display at the Interurban Railway Museum in historic downtown Plano.
