Shooting at apartment complex leaves two hospitalized

Mesquite police responded to a call regarding a shooting at the Baron Apartments, 2101 U.S. 80, at approximately 11 a.m. on March 20.
Police arrived on the scene and found two male victims shot in the torso. Mesquite Fire and Rescue was summoned to the scene, and the victims were transported to Baylor Dallas. Both men were conscious and able to identify who shot them.
Police brought the suspect in for questioning, and he admitted to doing a drug deal in the parking lot of the apartment building. He told police that he shot the two victims when one of the men tried to rob him.
