11-5A SOFTBALL: Eagles, Mustangs roll to victory

Rowlett and Sachse each broke out the big bats on Tuesday as they each posted double-digit victories in 11-5A play.
The Eagles shook off a district-opening loss to the Mustangs by pounding South Garland in a 16-1 victory to even their 11-5A record at 1-1.
Madison Field belted a home run as Rowlett amassed 15 hits in all. Grasyn Langley, Pierson Jones, Carlee Shelton and Hayden Stokes added doubles for the Eagles.
The Mustangs were shut out the first three innings and trailed 3-0 before scoring eight runs in the fourth inning and adding seven more in the fourth.
Bry Carlisle had a triple and three RBIs to lead the offense. Rachel Rogers, Kacie Rogers and Tess Biggs all drove in two runs as Bailey Parker, who struck out six, went the distance to get the win.
Sachse is tied with Garland, a 17-7 winner over Naaman Forest on Tuesday, for first place with 2-0 records, with Rowlett and the Rangers knotted in thrd place.
The Eagles will play at Garland on Friday afternoon before another road game at Lakeview in a Monday matinee. The Mustangs have a bye on Friday and will return to action on Monday to host South Garland.
