11-5A BOYS SOCCER: Rowlett edges Sachse to move back into district title race

It has been a topsy-turvy ride for all the 11-5A boys soccer teams this season and Tuesday was no different.
Any time a team threatens to break away from the pack, another reels them back in, which is what Rowlett did to Sachse with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday at Williams Stadium.
The Mustangs had won five consecutive matches to surge to the top of the standings, while the Eagles were coming off a loss to Garland.
The Mustangs and Colonels are now tied for first with 6-3 records. Rowlett, which has played one fewer game, is tied for third at 5-3 with Garland, followed by 4-4 Naaman Forest, who defeated North Garland on Tuesday.
With the congested standings, every match is big from this point forward. Rowlett will take on South Garland on Friday at 8 p.m. at Williams Stadium, Sachse will meet Garland at 6 p.m. at Homer B. Johnson Stadium, while Naaman Forest and Lakeview will play at 4 p.m. at Williams Stadium.
The teams will then take a week off for Spring Break before returning to action for the stretch run on Mar. 19.
