Murphy Kent Allison

A memorial service for Murphy Kent Allison will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Scott will officiate.

Mr. Allison, 70, passed away Thursday, February 14, at the Medical Center of Plano.

Kent was born July 30, 1942, in Sherman, Texas, to the late E.M. and Ina Mae (Nichols) Allison. After graduating from Denison High School, Kent studied architecture in Fort Worth and would retire as a brick mason after many years.

He will be remembered as an avid reader. He also found much enjoyment boating and spending time at Lake Texoma. Kent was a founding member (#128) of the Sherman Elk's Lodge and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one son, Lanny Allison of Kaufman, Texas; one brother, John Allison and his wife, Karen, of Cypress, Texas; three grandchildren; and two nieces, Melody Clark and Abbey Brewer.

Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his parents, and the love of his life, Jill Stephens.

He was dearly loved and is also survived by Jill's three children, Jay Stephens, Cindy Andrews, and Sara Fair.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
