23-4A GIRLS SOCCER: Wranglers knock off North Forney to move into tie for third
Published: Saturday, February 16, 2013 1:21 AM CST
The 23-4A season is only two weeks old, but West Mesquite is already making noise as it hopes to end a lengthy playoff drought.
The Wranglers took another big step on Friday with a 2-0 shutout victory over North Forney.
Alexis Jordan and Alexandra Leiva provided the scoring and the West Mesquite defense did the rest as they improved to 2-1-0-0.
Forney picked up a 6-0 victory over Kaufman to improve to 4-0-0-0 and allow them to move out of a tie for first place with Poteet, who was idle.
Those two teams are scheduled to meet on Tuesday in Forney. West Mesquite will try to remain hot when it plays at Kaufman.
