11-5A WEEKEND SOCCER ROUNDUP: Rowlett girls power past Lancaster in season opener

Rowlett had no problems with Lancaster as it rolled to an 11-0 victory in its season opener last Thursday.
The Eagles filled out the score sheet, as 10 different players found the back of the net.
Haley Rodriguez led the way with a pair of goals, while Grayson Byrd, Ashley Catlin, Chais Etheridge, Brooke Horn, Kahli Hughley, Rachel Liston, Taylor Magnus, Edith Payan and Heidee Perez added scores in the shutout win.
The Sachse boys managed a 3-2 shootout victory over Bishop Lynch on Friday at the Jesuit Meinster Tournament, but it was sandwiched between a 3-1 loss to North Mesquite on Thursday and a 3-0 setback to Flower Mound Marcus on Saturday.
The Mustang girls blanked Midlothian in a 2-0 win on Thursday and battled Frisco Liberty to a scoreless draw on Friday.
