Merry Lane Welman
Merry Lane Welman went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2013, surrounded by her husband, sister and her four daughters at the age of 77.
Merry was born on September 4, 1935, in Kennett, Missouri, to John and Jo Lane.

She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Memphis State College in 1957. Merry married Ray Welman on August 7, 1957, in Jackson, Tennessee.

Merry and Ray made their home in Texas for more than 40 years, living in Frisco for the last nine years. Merry devoted her life to raising her four daughters and grandchildren as well as caring for countless other children.

Merry loved her volunteer work in her later years at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church and as a mentor mom in the MOPS program.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ray Welman of Frisco, Texas; loving sister, Jodie Lane of Frisco; her four daughters, Merry Muhney and husband, Pat, of Hurst, Rebecca Welman of McKinney, Elizabeth Smith and husband, Jeff, of Van Alstyne, and Martha Ann Montanaro and husband, Chris, of Cabot, Arkansas; and six grandchildren, Emily Muhney, Jeffrey and Nathan Smith, Christopher, Ashley and Rachel Montanaro.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco.
