A McKinney man was sentenced last week to 50 years in prison for molesting his girlfriend’s daughter for seven years.

Jury trial testimony revealed that Eduardo Alfaro, 44, who was a father figure to the victim, began sexually abusing her in Plano when she was 10 years old. The abuse continued until she was 17 and told authorities, according to testimony.

During their investigation, Plano police found a Polaroid camera Alfaro used to take pornographic photos of the child. They also found sex toys, pornographic movies and thousands of deviant pornographic images on his computer. Much of the pornography downloaded from Alfaro’s computer had themes of older men with younger women, according to a Collin County District Attorney’s office release. Alfaro, who was married once before, married his current wife while living with his girlfriend, the victim’s mother.

Alfaro’s 50-year sentence resulted from his most serious charge, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a young child. He was also convicted and sentenced to 40 years on each of five counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child; 20 years on each of two counts of indecency with a child; and 20 years for each of four counts of sexual assault of a child. All counts referred to the same victim, and punishment for them will be served concurrently.

Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Crystal Levonius and Claire Miranda prosecuted the case and were assisted by District Attorney Investigator Kenny Newton. The case was investigated by Plano police Detective Chris Jones. Retired District Judge James Fry presided over the case.
