Frisco teen becomes 4th-generation Eagle Scout
Four generations of Eagle Scouts

Andrew Dalebout, 14-year-old student at Griffin Middle School, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on June 27, 2012, and became a fourth-generation Eagle Scout at the age of 13. Andrew will be recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor on Jan. 20, 2013, in Frisco, Texas.
Andrew loves Scouting and progressed enthusiastically through the ranks, acquiring 30 merit badges on his trail to Eagle. He had special motivation, hoping to join his father, Scott Dalebout, grandfather, Richard Dalebout, and great-grandfather, William Dalebout, as an Eagle Scout while William was still living.
Only about 2 percent of Boy Scouts become Eagle Scouts, and to achieve the rank as the fourth living generation is exceedingly rare.
"We only know of one other family to celebrate the event with all four generations living," says Scott Dalebout.
Andrew's most significant Scouting experience was directing the build of three garden trellises and a picnic table for Frisco Community Garden.
"Scouting taught me how to work hard and serve others," Andrew said as he looked back at his time in Scouting. "I also realize how many people have helped me on the way. I'm grateful for the leaders, Troop 1187 Scouters, family and friends who contributed to my success."
