Kristi Valentine is new chamber president

Published: Friday, December 21, 2012 2:14 PM CST
Kristi Renee Valentine, who has been active member of the Coppell community for several years, will assume duties Jan. 7 as the new president and chief executive officer of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce.

She replaces Tony Moline, who resigned in November in order to take a similar position at Cedar Park, Tx.

Cliff Long, incoming chairman of the chamber board of directors, said Valentine was chosen from a long list of applicants for the job.

She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from TCU, with an emphasis on advertising and marketing, she and her husband John have lived in Coppell for 11 years. She served as booster club manager for the Coppell Baseball Association between October 2009 and August 2012 and helped with fundraising for the Coppell Youth Football Association in the summer of 2008.

Her present position is patient relations manager for Vision Source/Elliott Eye Associates.

She has been a substitute teacher in the Coppell Independent School District and has chaired several committees as a member of the Mockingbird Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.

A native of Fort Worth, she and her husband first moved to Valley Ranch after they were married in 1998. They moved to Coppell in 2001. They have two children, Reid, 13, and Maura, 9.

“The main area of focus for me, initially, in leading the Coppell Chamber of Commerce will be to continue the growth of our membership,” she said, after being named the new chamber president and CEO. “We need to further penetrate the base of existing businesses in Coppell while continuing to reach out to new businesses to join and take advantage of all the wonderful programs and assistance the chamber has to offer its members, as well as the community.  I also hope to further develop the relationships we have with CISD and the city.”

She added, “Coppell is an amazing city that I truly love.  I bring a great number of important qualities to the chamber team.  One of the strongest is my personality and the way in which I represent Coppell straight from my heart.  My husband and I have chosen to live in Coppell and have committed a great portion of our time to support our city, community, associations, schools and church here through voluntary involvement and leadership in numerous organizations.  We have planted deep roots and have chosen to raise our family here while surrounding ourselves with others that have that same passion for Coppell.”

She concluded, “I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to take this leadership position and serve our community as the president and CEO of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce.”
