Lewisville police investigate fatality accident (updated)

Lewisville police recently released the names of the victims in last weekend's early morning fatality accident.
The accident occurred around 7 a.m. Dec. 2 on Interstate 35E. Dennis Walker was pronounced dead at the scene. Francisco Martinez was transported to Plano Hospital where he later died from injuries sustained during the accident.
Police said Alfonso Brown was driving northbound in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on the way home from Houston. Police believe Brown fell asleep while driving. The vehicle began to swerve, which caused Brown to wake up. He then overcorrected causing the vehicle to hit the outside concrete barrier and roll several times.
Police shutdown all lanes of I-35 northbound beginning at Main Street. Traffic was backed up for miles and was diverted to the frontage roads.
Billy Rosales was the front seat passenger. Walker, Martinez, Marvin Cortez and Recardo Mancilla were all seated in the back seat, unrestrained by seat belts. Walker, Martinez, and Cortez were ejected from the vehicle. Lewisville Fire Department paramedics transported all occupants to hospitals.
Brown, Rosales and Mancilla were transported to Medical Center of Lewisville; Cortez was transported to Denton Regional Hospital. As of Friday, Brown, Rosales, Cortez and Mancilla were all released from the hospital.
The occupants of the vehicle are residents of Lincoln, Neb. and were travelling from Houston. There is no indication of alcohol being a factor.
According to the Journal Star, a local Lincoln paper, Walker was a producer and engineer with his own independent label, BootUp Records. He created beats and sold them to other hip-hop artists. Walker went to Houston with Rozales, who planned to perform and record in Houston. Rosales decided to bring along the other musicians, including his best friend, Martinez.
Rosales told the Journal Star that Martinez was "a great guy, always smiling, always cracking jokes. Just a really positive person to be around. A real good friend."
