Wolverines remain perfect
The Wakeland boys basketball team seems determined not to miss the postseason again in 2012.
The Wolverines have tipped off the new season with five straight victories after defeating North Garland, 71-53, on Tuesday.
Cameron Walker scored a game-high 14 points to lead Wakeland in the contest, with Josh Harris and Jackson Lamb each adding nine points of their own.
After carrying a 19-9 lead into the second quarter, Wakeland poured in 24 points in the second frame to take a 43-19 lead into the locker room. The Wolverines cruised from there, as the team now prepares for this weekend’s Grapevine Tournament.
Pullum leads Lobos past North
Fresh off a playoff football appearance against Mesquite Poteet, senior guard Devante’ Pullum shined in his senior basketball debut.
Pullum scored a game-high 24 points to lead Little Elm to a 79-56 victory against McKinney North.
The senior guard was one of three Lobos in double figures, with senior Shaun Grant adding 18 and senior Jalen Bridges tallying 12 of his own.
Tuesday’s victory gave Little Elm a 3-1 mark through its first four games, as the team prepares for the Curtis Culwell Invitational this weekend.
THSBCA Convention and Clinic
The Waco Convention Center will be the site of the 2013 Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Convention and Clinic.
The event is set for Jan. 10-12.
Early registration is available until Dec. 4 at a cost of $65. That price includes membership, clinic fees, liability insurance through THSBCA, a membership card and spot in the 2013 directory.
Regular or on-site registration is $80.

THSCEF Leadership Summit
The Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation is teaming with Game Changers for its leadership summit on Feb. 18, 2013.
The event will take place at the AAC.
Tickets are $99 for Texas High School Coaches Association members and $250 for non members. Payment can be sent to: THSCEF, P.O. Drawer 1138, San Marcos, Tx. 78667.
