Holiday parade set for Saturday

The annual Spirit of Coppell Lighted Holiday Parade of Trees will come down Samuel Blvd. and Parkway Blvd. beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and will end at the Coppell Town Center Plaza where a variety of activities are planned.
The parade will have at least 42 entries, including at least 34 floats.
The award-winning Coppell High School band and Lariettes will lead the way for the parade, which will feature entries from several Boy Scout and Girl Scout organizations as well as businesses and various groups in the city.
The parade will be followed by the annual lighting of the tree at Coppell Town Center Plaza.
Activities following the parade will include visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, the Gingerbread Man, Holiday Tree and elves.
Food which will be available at the event will include hot coffee and hot chocolate from Biggby, nut-n-butter roasted nuts, funnel cakes and popcorn. There will also be a candy cane hunt.
The Justin Cash Trio Band will perform at the event.
Also, story telling and cookies will be offered by members of the Keep Coppell Beautiful board in front of Town Center. Board members in festive green hats will read “When Santa Turned Green” to children who gather at the tree, beginning at 7 p.m.
Pictures with Santa will be offered in the lobby of Town Center.

CHS band and Lariettes, James Pugliese, CGSA, Great Shape Fit Club, Coppell Education Foundation, Team Chieftain, Firebirds of Coppell YMCA, Coppell Republicans Club, Ben Bartlett, Starwood Motors, Coppell Fire Department, Pack 1011, Coppell YMCA Adventure Guides, Coppell Realty, Prestige Dance and Performing Arts Center and Trinity River Kayak Company.
Also, Elite Art Installation, Coppell Girl Scouts Service Unit 112, St. Ann Pack 820, Lims Tiger Taekwondo, Special Olympics of Coppell/New Tech, Cub Scout Pack 841, Girl Scout Troop 1662, Dance Machine Studios, Coppell Rotary Club, Your Community Credit Union, Grace Point Church, Texas Creative Arts Academy and Keller Williams Realty.
