Liberty, Heritage picked up by Time Warner

Fans not able to attend Thursday night’s game between Liberty and Heritage got a second chance to see the action.

Time Warner Cable picked up the 7 p.m. game from FC Dallas Stadium on SportsChannel 185.

Football fans had the chance to watch all the action on the gridiron as the Coyotes and Redhawks square off, with both teams looking for their first district win of the season.

Time Warner Cable SportsChannel offers a mix of syndicated and original local programming to more than one million Texans. Programming highlights include high school and college athletics from across the state.

Results of the game were not known as of press time.

Eagles rout Gainesville State School

Legacy Christian Academy (7-1, 2-0) had an easy time during its district-opening win against Flower Mound Coram Deo Academy two weeks ago.

It was much of the same Friday night against Gainesville State School, with the Eagles earning a 49-8 victory and improving to 2-0 against district counterparts this season.

Senior running back Ovie Urevbu led all players in the game with 110 yards and three touchdowns on just five carries. Urevbu contributed to an LCA ground attack that averaged 8.29 yards per carry.

Senior quarterback Adam Beck added another 62 yards and one score on the ground while completing his only pass attempt for a 37-yard touchdown strike to senior receiver Zach Snider.

The team’s defense made things easier on Beck and the LCA offense by forcing four takeaways.

However, the Eagles will get a tougher test tonight with a 7:30 p.m. contest against McKinney Christian.

The two teams will kick off the action from McKinney North.
