Tom Thumb to open Flower Mound store Wednesday

Published: Monday, October 29, 2012 2:11 PM CDT
The shelves are almost stocked. A host of delicious baked goods are being prepared.  And the last apple is about to be tucked into place. It’s all in preparation for the grand opening of a new Tom Thumb store on Wednesday.

The new store is located at 4301 Cross Timbers in the new Cross Timbers Village shopping center. The grand opening begins with a preview at 8:00 a.m. followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m.  Flower Mound Mayor Tom Hayden; Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce Board Chairwoman Jane Foster and Paul McTavish, president of Tom Thumb, will be on hand at the ceremony.

The 59,867-square-foot facility features the company's interior design lifestyle concept, which combines the efficiency of food retailing with the ambience associated with department stores to create a pleasing shopping environment.

Tom Thumb truly provides a one stop shopping experience for its customers. In addition to grocery shopping, customers can take care of multiple tasks on their to-do lists, gifts and gift cards for all occasions, floral needs, a drive-thru pharmacy, fuel station and much more.

“Tom Thumb joined the Flower Mound community over 20 years ago, and we are excited to offer our customers a brand new store that will provide quality, value and convenience while remaining true to our heritage of offering extraordinary customer service in clean, neat, well-stocked stores,” McTavish said.
