AHS FFA receives national ranking
The national FFA organization recently selected the Allen FFA chapter from a pool of 660 candidates nationwide as a three-star winner in the National FFA Chapter Award Program.
The award program is sponsored by John Deere as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. The National FFA chapter award program recognizes FFA chapters for developing and conducting a detailed program of activities. Every year, FFA chapters are recognized as having earned a one-, two- or three-star rating on their application. The three-star rating is the highest level of accomplishment an FFA chapter may achieve. On Oct. 22, the Allen FFA was recognized at the Allen ISD board meeting.
Placing at the State Fair in the rabbit show for the AHS FFA were Katelyn Thompson and Reagan Konier, who each won Best of Breed in their respective classes. Samantha Johnson won First Place and Best in Variety in her competitions. Sarah Tracey took home a Third Place showing while Hannah Lehman won Fourth Place. Ashleigh Frost and Victoria Smith also competed for Allen.
Airman Johnson ready to serve

Airman Johnson is currently enrolled in a training program in Traffic Management at Fort Lee, Va., home of the Combined Arms Support Command. Johnson is a 2010 graduate of Allen High School.
