Fay Cardwell of Leonard, Texas passed away, surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2012 at the age of 79.
She was born on May 21, 1933, in Mesquite, Texas, to Aaron Lee and Kizzie (Baker) Rice.Fay graduated from Garland High School, where she was a star basketball player.
Fay was a member of First Baptist Church of Leonard, Texas, where she especially loved her Sunday School Class; and a former member of First Baptist Church of Allen, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Jackie Cardwell of Leonard, Texas; children, Jacquelyn Permenter and husband Scotty of Leonard, Texas, Jackie Cardwell, Jr. of Weston, Texas, James Cardwell and wife Jeannie of Weston, Texas; grandchildren, Marty Nevil, Jeffrey Permenter, Aaron Cardwell, Jacob Cardwell, Rachel Cardwell and Jordan Cardwell; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Carpenter of Leonard, Texas and Judy Brasher of Garland, Texas; brother, Marvin Rice of Wylie, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Fay is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Kizzie Rice; sister, Mary Seals; brothers, Hugh Rice and Robert Rice.
Funeral services will be held at noon, on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6 p.m., on Thursday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
