Voters pass two special local option elections
By Anthony Tosie, atosie@starlocalnews.com
Frisco voters approved two local option elections allowing for the sale of alcoholic beverages in areas of the cities that were annexed after the last wet/dry election.
The result of the two local option elections will allow restaurants in those areas to sell mixed beverages, and area stores will now be able to sell beer and wine for off-premise consumption.
According election results in Denton County and Collin County, the mixed beverage election passed with about 72.51 percent of the votes, and the beer and wine sale election passed with about 78.34 percent of the vote.
The Frisco Enterprise has reached out to city officials for comments on the election results. This article will be updated with those comments when they are received.
