Election Day set for Tuesday

Americans across the country will head to the polls Tuesday to decide the presidential race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
Closer to home, voters in Collin County will have a number of items on the ballot, including who will replace longtime state Sen. Florence Shapiro.
Shapiro has held the seat since 1993, but announced last year that she would not seek another term as the senator for the state's 8th District. Running to replace Shapiro are current Republican state Rep. Ken Paxton, as well as Democratic challenger Jack Ternan and Libertarian Ed Kless.
Other races on the ballot include two spots on the Railroad Commission, one spot on the state board of education and various judicial positions.
Collin County residents may vote at any polling location in the county, regardless of which city they live in. To see sample ballots or a complete list of polling locations, visit www.co.collin.tx.us/elections.
