Wilma Allen Lemley
Wilma Allen Lemley of Eddy, formerly of Blue Ridge, died Sunday night October 7, 2012, at the age of 85.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with a private memorial service at 5 p.m. Another visitation will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m. Friday October 12, 2012, at Hurst Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 111 Tilman Street, Blue Ridge, Texas with a committal service following at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Cemetery.

Wilma was born October 16, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Gleen (Hallmark) Humphries.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and loved studying the Bible. She also had a passion for history and enjoyed reading history books.

Later in life, she taught herself to sew and became a great seamstress and quilter. Everyone in the family enjoys sleeping under one of her quilts.

Wilma was also a wonderful cook who enjoyed many years of employment in the school cafeteria in McKinney until her retirement.

If anyone would ask, Wilma would tell you her favorite thing in this life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Many precious memories were made while sitting on her back porch after enjoying one of her delicious meals.

Our dear mother and grandmother, sister and friend will be missed on this earth but we know she is waiting for us in a better place.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Weldon Lemley and grandson Christopher Lemley.

Survivors include her three children, Linda Elaine Hargis of Eddy, Johnnie Lemley of Kissimmee, Florida and Terry Lemley of Tampa, Florida and their spouses, Pat, Glenda, and Bill; grandchildren Katie Terrell and husband Trey of Temple, David Hargis and wife Aubrey of Alexandra, VA, Jeremy Lemley of McKinney, Jennifer Lemley and Candace Lemley of Milford, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Riley Humphries and wife Sue of Blue Ridge and her dear friend, Mary Welch of McKinney.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to her hospice caregivers: Sheila, Elizabeth, Irena and Sharon and the special caregivers on the fourth floor of St. Catherine's Center who cared for her in their own special way with love and compassion. You were her angels on earth. We would also like to thank our minister David for his visits with her, and Dr. Tim for the care he gave her.

Condolences may be offered at colefuneralhomes.com.
