Celina School Board approves sign-in system

The Celina Independent School District board of trustees approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Collin County Juvenile Probation Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program at the Sept. 17 regular meeting.
The memorandum outlines conditions under which school districts will be charged for using the system and under what conditions students with behavioral problems will be sent to JJAEP classes.
The board also approved a system for calling substitute teachers and a visitor sign-in system.
District Director of Instruction Collette Pledger gave a report on TAKS, STAAR and EOC test results.
Of the students that took the STAAR, EOC English 1 reading test 83.7 percent scored satisfactory and 16.3 percent made a commended score.
Of the students who took Algebra 1 STAAR and EOC tests nearly 97 percent met satisfactory scores and 2.22 percent made commended scores.
The board also approved objectives for district goals.
Also approved was a loan amortization schedule for the sale of the Celina Independent School District Maintenance Tax Note, series 2012.
