Fatality crash occurs on Coit Road
By Conner Hammett, chammett@starlocalnews.com
A Plano man died Tuesday when his car careened off the road and crashed into a brick wall.
James Houston, 22, was traveling southbound on Coit Road near Legacy Drive around 8 p.m. at a "high rate of speed" when his Mazda left the roadway and hit a brick wall dividing the roadway from a residential subdivision, said Officer David Tilley, Plano PD spokesman.
No skid marks from Houston's vehicle were found on the road near the scene. A report from the Dallas Morning News said the vehicle caught fire after vehicle struck the wall, though Tilley said that report has not yet been confirmed.

This accident occurred on Wednesday night not Tuesday. and it occurred on Coit Rd. between Parker and Springcreek. It was a horrible accident. The car smashed into the wall with so much force that the front half of the car and 2 sections of the wall practically disintegrated. The back half of the car was propelled back out into the road. "
