MCM pulls off Triple Gold Performance

By Sally Huggins, Special Contributor
Medical Center of McKinney (MCM) is one of 33 hospitals across the nation to achieve the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s (AHA) “Triple Gold Performance” recognition for the care and treatment of cardiac and stroke patients.
AHA recognized Medical Center of McKinney for this prestigious Get With The Guidelines® program achievement in the August 2010 edition of U.S. News and World Report.
Medical Center of McKinney achieved a:
Gold Plus Performance Award for Stroke
Gold Performance Award for Heart Failure
Get With The Guidelines® is AHA’s quality-improvement program that helps hospitals insure patients consistently receive cardiac and stroke care in accordance with the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations.
To achieve Triple Gold Recognition, Medical Center of McKinney had to meet 85 percent of the performance measures, in all three categories, for two years or more. These gold performance awards highlight Medical Center of McKinney’s dedication to improved patient outcomes in cardiac and stroke care.
President and CEO Ernest C. Lynch said, “Medical Center of McKinney is dedicated to making our patient care for heart and stroke patients among the best in the country, and the AHA’s Get With The Guidelines® program is helping us accomplish that goal.”
More than 1,300 hospitals across the nation participate in the Get With The Guidelines® program.
